It was all that guy's fault who said he knew everything about computers. Except, he couldn't get his flash drive to work in the library computer lab. And he'd left her feeling incompetent and useless. A lot like the way she felt with Sal, her boyfriend she lived with. He'd suddenly decided it was time to move on.
Well, she hoped he moved on. She wasn't sure she was ready to go back to any empty apartment.
Finally a tap came to the bathroom door, Tess arrived with her bag. She'd seen Tess humor the slick haired fellow, earlier. It irritated Molly, how Tess could get along with anyone.
"We were all having trouble with him." Tess told her who looked about as sad as Molly felt. Her hair was a mess and she seemed... as if she could go for a cigarette about now. She yawned. Molly looked down at Tess's clunky black shoes. She blew her nose.
"I can't- I can't deal with this. I just can't." Molly looked at Tess red-eyed.
"I know. I get it." Tess shrugged. "You, should go. Feel better, OK."
Molly nodded. "I think Sal's going to the west coast."
"Really?" Tess winced. "But he never goes anywhere. He never goes out, with you. He's at home playing WOW every night." Tess looked at her wide-eyed.
"He says he needs a change." Molly sniffed more tears. "I think he's seeing someone." Molly sucked in a breath.
"Seriously? How could he do that, to you? You..are...like..the best. Really." Tess patted her on the back. "Sorry that guy was so mean to you. Its just.. you know computers and I don't."
Molly squinted hard. All she could think of was Sal, telling her how boring she was. She hugged herself harder.
