Waiting all those nights

 "When did this happen?" Stevie took notice. Was that Geo with (he winced hard wondering what he should call him) Liam? They were like the best buds of forever, laughing at something only they would get. "Does Holly know?" He asked Carrie as they were hiding in her kitchen putting some last touches on some holiday finger foods, of pretzel reindeer with caramel and chocolate.

"If she does, she's not letting on," Carrie smiled as if only they would know. 

"I get a feeling, it might be more than that." At least he wasn't having to think about his dad off at the veterans home at the moment. But it was the best place for him with all his medical issues.

"Maybe Geo is afraid to be alone with Holly," Carrie told him.

"You think?" Stevie winced back as he tried one of the reindeer cookies. It was good and crunchie and the two of them had made this Christmas treat.

"Wouldn't you be?" Carrie wanted to know? "You are a guy."

"Oh, she'd never." Stevie shook his head no. They were both festive in their Christmas best colors with a little pink.

"If she's drunk enough, she might," Carrie told him she could be a real minx. "I hate that about her."

"Oh," Stevie nodded. He hadn't thought that far about what Carrie liked in a relationship, but she did have a point. He stuffed a Cheeto in her mouth then. If only J would get here. The roads were going to be terrible tonight as the blizzard was coming through. He was hoping they'd stay the night at Carrie's. Stevie took a step back. Holly wasn't even here. Where was she?
